Antechamber Bay

Antechamber Bay is the penultimate bay on the east coast of Kangaroo Island, 14 kilometres south-east of Penneshaw. It lies across Backstairs Passage due south of the Fleurieu Peninsula. When Matthew Flinders arrived at the bay on 6 April 1802, he noted that ‘It is called Antechamber’. Why it is called ‘Antechamber Bay’ is unclear.
