Encounter Bay

”]Scene: View of Encounter BayEncounter Bay is located on the south central coast of South Australia and is about 100km from Adelaide. The Bay gets its name from the encounter between Matthew Flinders and Nicholas Baudin on 8 April 1802, who had been charting the South Australian coastline. Encounter Bay is also significant as it was the home of a shore based whaling station operated by the South Australian Colony.
