Hobart

Today, Hobart is the state capital of Tasmania. It’s history dates back to 1804 when a penal colony was founded on the Derwent river, making it Australia’s second oldest capital city. In the early 1800’s Hobart was one of Australia’s major ports due to its deep harbour and the whaling and sealing trade.
