Plymouth

Plymouth is a port in Devon on the south coast of England, about 190 miles (304 kilometres) south-west of London. It is located where the Rivers Plym and Tamar enter Plymouth Sound. Plymouth is so named because it lies at the mouth of the River Plym. In Old English, ‘plym’ means ‘plum tree’ and the name of a present-day suburb of Plymouth, ‘Plympton’, means ‘plum-tree town’.
