Point Marsden is located on the north coast of Kangaroo Island, 10 kilometres due north of Kingscote. It is the most north-easterly point of North Cape. Ships travelling through Investigator Strait and bound for Nepean Bay bear round Point Marsden, keeping it on their starboard side. Matthew Flinders named Point Marsden on 21 March 1802 after William Marsden, second Secretary to the Board of Admiralty.
