Ushant

Ushant is a French island off the west coast of the Brittany region of France. Ushant is the only place in Brittany to have both English and French names. Its French name is Ouessant. Ushant is a key landmark on the approach to the English Channel, which is delineated by a line from Ushant to the Scilly Islands off the south-west corner of England. This very rocky island covers an area of 5.8 square miles (15 square kilometres) and the surrounding waters are difficult to navigate with dangerous rocks and tides of more than 10 knots.
