Colonel Light has at length found the mouth of the river which is a considerable one, but he of opinion that there is a larger one higher up the Gulf described by Captain Jones and as it would detain us two or three weeks to survey this one properly he proposes taking it on his return, consequently we proceed in search of the other tomorrow. The mouth of the river is Lat. 34.44. While the Surveying Party were away I took the jolly-boat and crew to draw the seine on a sandbank between us and the river but were not successful.
