The town of Yankalilla is three kilometres east of Normanville in South Australia. Normanville is located on Gulf St Vencent at Yankalilla Bay, about 15 kilometres north east of Rapid Bay. William Pullen, surveying with Light noted, ‘the native name was Yankalilla, which the Colonel retained’. The town was officially proclaimed Yankalilla in 1911.
