[, on board the wrote. | Read source notes.]

This 24 hours calm as serene weather the
prospect around though barren lands yet
like the wild foul not forsaken has its rain
I took Miss Bear and the children on shore early
this morning and found Mr Stevens had
bing in trouble all night the L M Pellams crew
and his own people was allmost all drunk and
wanted to take away articles from the store
he had to depend on his pistols
we had service on board the church service with
an homly and exhorted the people to good works
in the afternoon five of us went on shore for a
prayer meeting Mr Richards – Jones – Glansford
Dorington and myself it was a refreshing time
in the everning had a good meeting again on
board had with the word of god a surmon on
the cloud between the camp
