Monday, 17th October.

Went out at 5 this morning to seek a powder-horn I lost in the bush and had the good fortune to find it, on my return shot a quail and rail. Stevens [Stephens] and Morphett called in just at dinner-time on their return from the Gulf. They are now with us and remain tonight. Bathed this morning for the first time.
