–               terrupted by a sudden increase of wind & wet,
which rendered it necessary to furl royals & tg^t sails,
& take in two reefs in the topsails. Noon. Fresh winds
& rain. Head E.S.E. Wind N.E. Miles run, 59 + 8246 =
8305. Lat^e 34E42′ S^o. Long^e 16E56′ W^t. Up Mainsail & spanker.
P.M. 9. Fresh gales & squally. In 3^d reefs of topsails: set trysails.
