First part squally with heavy rain the wind from
the westward close reeft the fore top sail and
hauld the main sail up at daylight more mod
erate made sail made sail close in with the land
ceveral sail sight PM an increaceing breese
at midnight heavy squalls took in the fore top sail
and hauld the fore sail up duble reeft the main top
sail and wore ship accationly at ½ past 7 PM assem
bled the people in the cabin to worship God and pray
for a continual assistance of His presence and
protection and for a senseable feeling of the same
read a chapter in the book of Job and sung an hymn
