[, on board the wrote. | Read source notes.]

This 24 hours strong winds let go the seacond
anchor under foot at 8 AM the John Pirie hove
in sight I took a boat and went on board and
piloted him and welcomed Captn Martin
crew and passengers to neapean bay all safe
with an exception of a whoman who had on
board a husband and four children she jumped
over board but was picked up but it caused her death
In the morning I wrestled hard with god in prayer
but at last the blessing did come it was sweet to
my taste more sweet than honey or the honey
comb more to be desired than gold yea than fine gold
