George Stevenson sailed on the Buffalo as secretary to Governor Hindmarsh. He kept a journal of the voyage, rich in descriptions of ship-board life and relationships, and frank in its character assessments. He wrote in ink in a clear hand.
The original journal is held in the State Library of South Australia as part of the Angas Papers (PRG 174/1 pages 383-406 and 667-709). The transcript used here is by Kate Walsh and Bob Sexton.
